The hilltop town of Ascoli Piceno stands as a UNESCO World Heritage site, clad in stunning travertine, the gem of Italy’s Marche region. And the jewels don’t stop there.  Distilleria Meletti was founded here in 1870 by Silvio Meletti and famous for its flagship Anisetta Meletti, traditional amari, and regional cordials. Silvio built a custom bain-marie still method to create high-quality local distillates and by late 19th century Meletti was appointed as an official supplier to the Italian Royal Family (King Umberto I).in the late 19th century.

Nowadays operated by the fifth generation of the Meletti family, they are still tied to their historic roots and Caffè Meletti in the main piazza of Ascoli Piceno.
Sambuca Meletti is a full-bodied, rich Italian liqueur available in a 70 cl bottle with 42% ABV, featuring aromatic anise and delicate floral notes.

Distilling Methods

Production begins by crafting an anise seed distillate known as an aniciato, using essential oils extracted from star and green anise. Additional select natural flavourings are infused into the base before the mixture rests in stainless steel tanks for an extended period, ensuring exceptional smoothness before reduction to proof and bottling.
