The French have many talents, but agriculture and food and drink are surely at the top.

So who says they can’t do whisky?  Rozelieurs combines these skills to produce one of the finest ranges of whisky out there.  From the bountiful slopes of the long extinct volcano Roselieurs, the Dupic family are farmers first and foremost (9th generation on the land) and distillers second (6th generation since 1890).

As farmers they have command of a superb terroir in the Grand-Est region of North East France and are one of a very small handful of single estate whisky distilleries in the world, controlling every single aspect of production.  Grain, malting, brewing, distillation, everything  is in house and that allows a fanatical obsession with quality to play out in their whisky.  Roselieurs are the second oldest whisky distillery in France so they’ve had plenty of time to perfect their art.

The French know their stuff.  Go and do likewise.

Rozelieures 8 Year Triple Cask is a rich, lightly peated French single malt whisky with 42% ABV and a 70 cl bottle size. It delivers deep complexity from its maturation in American oak, French oak, and wine casks.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Complex aromas of sweet vanilla, dried fruit, and a subtle touch of clove.
  • Palate: Flavors unfold into buttery caramel, black cherry, and blond tobacco.
  • Finish: Long and balanced, leaving lasting impressions of vanilla wood and liquorice.

Serving Suggestions

  • Neat: Pour at room temperature between 18 and 20°C to appreciate its full aromatic depth.
  • With Water: Add a single drop of pure water to open up the hidden spice and fruit layers.
  • Cocktail Idea: Use it as a rich base in an Old Fashioned to accent the caramel and tobacco undertones with a dash of orange bitters.

Food Pairing

  • Chocolate Desserts: Complements dark chocolate tarts or cocoa-rich cakes.
  • Mature Cheeses: Pairs wonderfully with aged, hard cheeses that balance the sweet malt and wood profile.
