Ferdinand's Riesling Liqueur - 50CL

The Saarland lies strategically placed between France, Luxembourg and Germany.

Here, where the Saar and Moselle rivers meet is primo Riesling territory and, in its midst, the Zilliken Winery Estate has stood since 1742. Founded by royal Prussian district forrester Ferdinand Geltze, Zilliken produce liqueurs and vermouths under the Ferdinand name to honour him.

Still run by the 11th generation of the Geltz family, drinks are formed to exacting German standards.  

Ferdinand's Riesling Liqueur is an elegant, grape-forward German aperitif with 22% ABV and a bottle size of 50CL. It combines the Zilliken winery's renowned Riesling wines with expert crafting from the Avadis Distillery.

Tasting Notes

•    Nose: A bright aroma featuring hints of lemon, fresh flowers, and honey, paired with fruity undertones of citrus, melon, apples, and red vineyard peach.
•    Palate: A brilliant balance of sweet tropical fruit flavours alongside crisp grapefruit-style acidity, complemented by subtle spicy complexity.
•    Finish: A clean, juicy, and refreshingly persistent conclusion.

Serving and Cocktail Suggestions

•    Pure over Ice: Pour directly over large ice cubes for a simple, refreshing aperitif.
•    Ferdinand's Riesling Fizz: Combine 40 ml of Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin, 30 ml of the Riesling liqueur, and 25 ml of fresh lemon juice, then shake and top up with 100 ml of soda water.

Distilling Methods

The production unites contemporary distillation techniques from master distiller Andreas Vallendar at the Avadis Distillery with fine viticultural traditions from the centuries-old Zilliken winery. Selected estate wines and local fruits are carefully infused and blended to preserve the authentic, terroir-driven character of the Saar valley.
