Amaro Alpe is a 38% ABV Italian alpine amaro from Val d'Aosta with a distinct, bitter profile dominated by gentian, artemisia (genepy), and fresh mint
It is highly herbal, offering a complex, earthy, and forest-like flavour with notes of rhubarb, pine, and wood spice, finishing long and dry, making it a robust digestivo
Key Tasting Notes and Profile

Aroma: Intense herbal, earthy, and floral notes, with hints of pine and mountain herbs

Taste: Moderately to highly bitter, driven by gentian root and artemisia, balanced by a fresh minty edge and complex, warm, spicy undertones

Texture/Finish: The palate is quite bold but balanced with a slightly viscous mouthfeel that dries out, leading to a long, clean, and herbal finish

Key Botanicals: Over 20 alpine herbs and roots, prominently gentian, artemisia, mint, and rhubarb

Comparison and Usage
Amaro Alpe vs. Amaro Alpe Lys: The standard Amaro Alpe (38% ABV) is more bitter, complex, and intense compared to the lighter, more floral, and sweeter 30% ABV Amaro Alpe Lys

Usage: Best served neat or on the rocks as a digestive after a meal
It is often described as a perfect balance between the styles of Fernet-Branca and Jägermeister

Cocktails: Ideal for use in a Black Manhattan or as a bitter component in stirred cocktails
