Alpe Genepy 49

Alpe Genepy 49 Herbetet (bottled at 49% ABV) is an Italian herbal liqueur produced in the Valle d'Aosta region. It is known for being a high-proof, intensely herbaceous, and authentic representation of the alpine wormwood plant (Artemisia genipi and Artemisia mutellina) 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Earthy and refreshing aromas, with prominent notes of mint, clove, and bright lemon peel 

Palate: A complex, rooty, and intensely herbaceous palate. It is described as an "explosion of flavours", featuring dominant notes of genepy, marjoram, and sandalwood 

Finish: Rich, smooth, and warming, with lasting notes of pine, cinnamon, and ripe berries 

Colour: Typically a pale golden or light olive colour (derived naturally, not from artificial dyes)

ABV: 49% (98 Proof) 

Base: Neutral grain distillate (wheat) sweetened with sugar beet sugar 

Botanicals: Primarily genepy, with supporting herbs including oregano, mint, and true cinnamon 

Usage: Best served as a digestivo (neat) or in herbal, alpine-style cocktails
