Milhoc le Premier Ne Whisky Francais - 70CL
MilHoc means corn in Gascon, the local language spoken in South West France and North East Spain and it’s a nod to the Gascon traditions of fine food and drink.
Produced on the historic Laubade family estate in Sorbets, Gers, within the rich terroir of Bas-Armagnac, MilHoc is the creation of the Lesgourgues family, now into their third generation of distillers.
Utilising very sandy soil, no irrigation, soil rotation between grain and vine and liberal agroforestry, Milhoc hold uniquely pristine terroir for the creation of their magnificent whiskys.
Agriculture comes first in France. Milhoc show us why.
MilHòc Le Premier Né is an exceptional French single grain whisky from Bas-Armagnac, bottled at 45% ABV in a 70 cl size, combining 54% estate-grown corn and 46% French malted barley.
Tasting Notes
• Nose: Bright citrus, rich vanilla, and fragrant sweet spices layered over distinct toasted aromas.
• Palate: Rich and silky texture that remains perfectly round and well-balanced on the tongue.
• Finish: Long, lingering, and warming.
Distilling Methods
The mash of 54% estate-cultivated corn and 46% French malted barley undergoes slow, gentle distillation in a traditional column-still alembic, mirroring classic regional techniques. It is then aged patiently in a meticulous mix of new oak, first-fill ex-Bourbon, and ex-Armagnac casks in 19th century estate cellars of consistent humidity and temperature before blending. The spirit is presented with natural colour and is non-chill filtered.
