Ferdinand's Dry Vermouth - 50CL

The Saarland lies strategically placed between France, Luxembourg and Germany.  Here, where the Saar and Moselle rivers meet is primo Riesling territory and, in its midst, the Zilliken Winery Estate has stood since 1742. Founded by royal Prussian district forrester Ferdinand Geltze, Zilliken produce liqueurs and vermouths under the Ferdinand name to honour him.

Still run by the 11th generation of the Geltz family, drinks are formed to exacting German standards.  

Ferdinand's Dry Vermouth is an exceptional German aromatized wine featuring an ABV of 18% and a bottle size of 50 cl. It delivers crisp herbal notes, citrus brightness, and elegant minerality.

Tasting Notes

Smooth on the palate with bright notes of spiced herbs, drying white grapes, mild  vanilla, and gentle oak. The lends crisp herbal notes, with hints of citrus and a mild touch of bitterness

•    Neat: Serve chilled over ice with a lemon twist or a sprig of fresh rosemary.
•    Classic Martini: Combine equal parts with Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin for a herbaceous and floral drink.
•    Vermouth Tonic: Mix with a quality dry tonic water and ice cubes for a refreshing long drink.

Estate History and Distilling Methods

Crafted by the Avadis Distillery, this vermouth uses fine Riesling wines from the Saar region's slate slopes, honouring Prussian District Forester Ferdinand Geltz. Over thirty hand-picked botanicals are infused into the mineral-rich base wine, which is then aged in traditional casks.
