The town of Cartavio lies at the heart of the Chicama valley in Peru, an oasis of agriculture, especially sugar can in this most mountainous of countries. It was here on April 29th, 1929 that the Cartavio distillery produced its first bottle and nearly a hundred years later it produces some of the finest rums available. Winners of countless awards over the years, their tasteful creations are a must for the rum enthusiast.

Cartavio Ron Black is a rich Peruvian dark rum bottled at 40% ABV in a 70 cl size, featuring tasting notes of sweet oak, dried coconut, and caramel.

Tasting Notes

•    Nose: Aromas of butter cream, vanilla, and cocoa open up, backed by a mild spice from the oak.
•    Palate: A smooth, velvety texture brings forward sweet oak, dried coconut, and hints of dried fruit.
•    Finish: A warm, lingering finish dominated by gentle caramel and a soft warming touch.
