The Silk Legacy

In the 14th century, Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, transformed the region’s future with a single idea: to cultivate mulberry trees along the lakeside to support the flourishing silk trade. The trees thrived, silkworms prospered, and Milan soon became one of Europe’s most important centres of silk production. This heritage left a lasting imprint on the culture, economy and identity of the Como area. 

A Drink Woven From Its Own Past

Amaro Seta carries this legacy within it. Its flavour profile is shaped by mulberry, a nod to the trees that once lined the lake, and enriched with spices that travelled historic trade routes, including saffron and cinnamon. These ingredients create a layered, aromatic amaro that feels both familiar and intriguingly complex. 

Craftsmanship in Every Detail

Even the silk ribbon tied around each bottle is part of the story. Produced by Bellieni, a renowned Como‑based silk weaver, it honours the region’s artisanal heritage. It is not decoration for decoration’s sake, it is a symbol of continuity, craftsmanship and the cultural threads that bind the drink to its origins.
